Well I just put my Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers (9k 7k) in my S14.

So far I have just the rear Coilovers in, my old front coilovers will be changed out soon with the Fortune Autos.

My problem is that both coilovers in the rear have been adjusted to the same length on the threaded body, but when I lower the car and put it on the ground one side is about a fingers width higher.

My thoughts were one side of the car is heavier maybe because of the gas tank or something. (Its the passenger side that is higher then the driver side in the rear)

The Preload on the springs are different, thus changing the height of the car. Fortune Auto said you didn't have to preload the rear coilovers.

The Pins coming out of the hubs where the lower part of the coilover mounts, are bent.

Maybe one coilovers didnt get the right spring when they were assembled. I chose to do custom rates. I did 9k 7k instead of what they came with factory 8k 6k.

I'll start with the preload first, then measure the spring length. I doubt the hub pins for the lower coilover mount are bent.

When I put my BC Racing Coilovers in my WRX my method above work. Measuring the amount of threads between the top collar and the bottom collar for level ride height.

Any ideas?

its strange because even my car has the same problem, but i'm on stock struts with eibach lowering springs.

wait, what

do you mean the height of the spring perch on each side is different? if so, that's what's fucking you up. go fix that.

I'll start with the preload first, then measure the spring length.the springs are the same length. for sure... set the preload equally, then count threads to set the bottom bracket height.

also, for the same coilover length to yield exactly the same wheelgap on each side, the body and chassis have to be perfectly straight, the fenders have to be rolled precisely the same way, and toe/camber/track have to be identical on each side. I'm guessing this may not be the case.

I'm pretty sure the preload on both rear coilovers are about even. I will check tomorrow.

I'm also aware of how the quarter panel sits on the body. The cars pretty old so im not sure of the condition of the body. Also I was just rolling the fenders but Ive rolled like 14 or so cars and they are pretty even.

Im also thinking about the previous work I just did removing the whole rear subframe, hubs and all.
