My friend said after welding his diff the car goes fast like accelerate faster i told him is should feel any different in speed except maybe getting off the line faster, because nothing has change except both tires turn. No gear were changed and no mods done just welded the diff. The car should be just as fast as before right?

Sorry for the stupid question!

Oh, Florida.

Anyway, with a welded diff, you won't gain any horsepower in welding it. Yes, you will "get off the line faster" because more of the power that the engine produces will be distributed to both rear wheels.

Thanx thats what i thought but he saying it feels faster.

Well, comparing it to an open differential, of course, it's going to feel faster.

Why would it feel faster maybe off the line. Other then that i dnt see why it would feel faster. Explain i to have a welded diff but i never have had a open.

Uhh... Open diffs send power to the tire with the least traction causing it to slip off the line, like when you do a burnout and you have that awesome one tire fire, the tire with all the traction gets very little power. When you have a welded diff both tires will receive the same amount of power regardless of which one has traction or not. This same theory will apply off the line or 60 to 100, you have a bigger surface area receiving power.
