Round 5, and the final round of the 2012 Lone Star Drift Series!
Here is the Facebook event page, please invite your friends!!!! Final Round of the 2012 Lone Star Drift Series | Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/events/359294824157811/)
We will be heading back to Gulf Greyhound Park for the final round of our 2012 series, and we will be finding out who are the best drifters in Texas, and then sending them on to Formula Drift! Our series has been amazing this year! The highlights have included tandem trains with Matt Powers at Texas Motor Speedway, classroom sessions, everyone getting WAY better at tandem, great competitions, and the addition of more than a dozen caged cars to our series. All the tandem drivers are in agreement, the tandem is getting WAY crazier, at an accelerating rate.

Please register early because I don't want to have to charge you a late fee! Registration closes on Wednesday night before the event. After that you must pay the late fee, which is designed to make you pay on time! : )
Spectators: You may come and go as many times as you like at the event to get food, or for any other reason. Restrooms are inside the main building about 50 yard off track. There are multiple cheap food choices within a few hundred yards of the track including Wendy's, Subway, Waffle House, McDonalds, etc for your lunch. You can arrive or leave any time of the day to watch and hang out, but the competition starts at 2:30 pm. If you bring an appropriate car helmet, not a bicycle helmet you can ride along in the drift cars! Bring cold water, shade, and chairs!

November 10th, Tech day.
Each year we host a tech day to check out the drift cars, and each year it has been at the same shop, Powerfab Automotive. They have been an awesome host, letting us use their shop, dyno, and staff so that we can check out our competition cars.
When: November 10th, 2012 from 11 am until 5 pm. All tech day cars need to arrive at 11 am for sign in.
Where: Powerfab Automotive. 10541 Cypress Creek Pkwy # 703, Houston, TX. THANKS POWERFAB!!!
What is it: This is a day for our media and our competition cars. We will dyno each of our competition cars that has a chance to come by. Running the cars on the dyno on the same day gives us a great way to checkout how each car puts out it's power. Then we put each car on a set of corner scales and check out the car's weight, and where it holds it. Then, we check out the steering angle of the vehicle, and measure it as well. By doing all this on the same day, at the same place, with the same methods we gain a greater understanding of how drift cars work in our area, and how they differ. Comparing and contrasting a V8 AE86 vs a turbo FC20 AE86 directly and then watching them compete against each other the next day is really interesting.
Registration: You must RSVP with me for a spot for your car. There is no cost. Media must RSVP with me as well for a spot.
