hey guys tried searching but couldn't find the answer

where is the timing chain tensioner located on the sr20det?

Right above the thermostat housing.

thanks guys, also is it fairly easy to replace the tensioner you're self?

very. take it out and when you put the other one in make sure to compress it and put the locking lever over to keep it compressed until you put it back in.

ok so once we put the tensioner in. can we turn it over by key or manually have to turn it over so the clip undoes it self?
do i need to take off the cover to see if the tensioner goes in good?

I'd recommend doing it manually, if you use the key, you may break something else when it doesn't stop...

usually 2 or 3 cranks with a socket on the lower pulley will do the trick...
