Hello guys. Just finally got me a 240sx finally took me forever. It is equipped with HUD. However it is not working stays at zero. I noticed towards the tailshaft of the trans there is two connectors very close to each other. In the assuming area of the speed sensor. I hooked up one that was disconnected and did not remedy the issue. So my question is there two plugs in this area part of the HUD system? Pictures help me better than schematics. Your help is greatly appreciated. I will attach pics soon.

If its reading 0 your speed sensor is probably bad. I don't believe anything else would affect it other than the plugs on the back of the cluster. However, that's doubtful because you're obviously getting power.

Ok at least it's not a gremlin I hate chasing those. Would you happen to have one for sale? I'll be sure to check the classifieds as well. This is my first car with digital display and assumed it could be some wiring issue. Another question is there is three other plugs that have no connection that go into the driver side of the trans would anyone know what these are or what functions they have.

Sorry I don't have one. This should help with the sensors.

Now I know a little about mechanical speedos if in fact it is a speedo cable and not a sensor. If its sticking or "bouncing" or noisy it can very well be a speedo cable.

I'd replace the speedo sensor. This thread came up in search so i'm bringing it back to ask this.
Has anyone successfully wired up their hud WITHOUT the cluster? Dont ask why.....i was just wondering.
