i was wondering if there was a way to test a BOV ?
i have the greddy type-r BOV and when i was working on my car a found a little stainless steel ball and a stainless steel spring. that's the only thing i can thing of that it could come out of. thanks.

um.. what?
Just get on a freeway on-ramp and boost to atleast 4 psi, then let off the gas suddenly and it SHOULD blow off. The GReddy valve might be a little tougher to break though...

hook up a vacuum pump and put like 25psi vacuum on it and see if it opens.

The type R will NOT blow off @ only 4psi. It won't even begin opening until 8psi, and that's with the standard spring. If you have the lower port hooked up, it *might* blow off earlier.

No problem mang. There's a reason why I sold my Type R and am now running an HKS ssqv. The Type R is a great bov, but it's a little too hardcore for most 240 owners...

Dude I just like the noise, so the HKS SSQV is good for me :D
