Well done, RB20 looks great!
I have a pair of those finned valve covers, they would look great on your car :rawk:

its pretty much stock!! :o

im looking for an intercooler setup for a bottom mount right now, any of you guys run those ebay setups?

What do you guys think? im trying to find a decent setup, because the stock intercooler setup to one side is GARBAGE!

smic's are not that bad for stock turbo low boost. I was actually considering going back to side mount (currently running an ebay intercooler without a single problem)to shorten the piping and allow more ventilation to my condenser and radiator, im only running 10psi on the stock turbo on my 25 anyway. I was just trying to find a good aftermarket smic or one from an r34, i read they're the best side mounts. Stock intake manifolds are good for up to 400hp and greddy style ones make you loose power on midrange (at least on 25 that is) which i imagine would suck for daily driving which is what i use my car for. So that means im stuck with the stock intake manifold (which i really hate)for like ever since i dont plan on going over 400 horses any time soon, and im not planning on spending time and so much money on a plazmaman one. I've chosen function over form, so im stuck with the piping going towards one side..
Oh and dont even mention about the pipes crossing over the fan/s cuz i hate that too..
here's a pic of my current setup:

^^ looks good! let me know if you decide to sell it, id buy it from you if you arent happy....

so do i have to buy an intercooler setup for one side right? i see several on ebay, so im just trying to buy the right one, but i dont want to spend 400-500 for a setup either.

Why do people choose RB20's over SR's? I didn't realize how slow the RB20 was til this past weekend when a buddy pulled through second and I kept up while shifting to third at 4k.

What did you use to clean the engine itself? as well as the process?

Did you just degrease spray degreaser then hose it down?

The reason I ask is because I want to clean up my KA to look like this.

I dont care why people choose rb20's over sr's, its like asking why people wear converse or air jordan's. I've went through my share of somewhat quick cars.

Are you talking about a stock rb20? Heavily modified rb20 would be and is enough power for a lightweight car. Maybe it's not the fastest thing on earth, but im not going to complain.

I traded my 93 4runner for a 240sx with an RB20 silvertop in it, i could careless about why people do it. You can always go bigger, better, faster. Not everyone can afford an rb25/26 or a supra motor.

yes degreaser, then hosed it down, let it dry, cover electrical stuff while doing this.

people who complain about rb20's have nvr driven them. i loved my 20, stock on 12 lbs felt amazing, i honestly would nvr choose a sr over a rb, but thats just my opinion.

nice thanks for the info.

im a fan of simple green, straight out of the bottle, spray it all over your bay, let it soak for like 10 mins, then pressure wash. I've been asked if my stock fuel rail is new.
And idk about 20's, but my stock 25 with minor upgrades feels really good on 10 psi.

ive owned a supercharged m3, but this stock rb20 pulls pretty good for being stock. I def would not say it's slow like the guy above.

I mean what mods are in the SR? Does your friend suck at driving? I wouldn't say a built rb20 is slow lol. 300-400 hp which is very capable in the rb20 ....

that's pretty quick in a 2600lb car, thats not even getting into gutting it.

Are you guys stupid? A built anything would be fast. No shit.

As for clarification on my part, I have a notchtop SR. Stock on 5psi(wastegate). He has a stock RB20 on 12psi. I haven't driven it but rode in it and wasn't impressed before hand. Then I was following him. He rapped it out to like 8k and I kept up, as I said, shifting into third at 4k.

OP- Did you repaint your bay or is that factory paint?

Edit- Let's not confuse keeping up as in being faster. I meant keeping up as staying with him, him not pulling ahead. Had I stayed in second though, There would be no chance. I'd consider the RB20 if I was planning to build it right away, I just wouldn't rock one stock when I could have more power and better fuel economy. Call me weird.
