Just a simple thought...im driving at 70 mph and the RPM's reading at 4100...is that normal? seems kinda of high

my sr'd 240 does the same thing, but randomly. I think i just have a short in the tach wire somewhere.

5th gear @70mph needle sits at 4100rpm
do you guys get the same RPM reading?
i know that the SR sits at a little over 3k but than again i assume the gear ratio is different

What transmission are you running? Factory rear end?

I have 4.30 gears and a 28" tall tire. 5th at 70 is 3100.

5th for me at 65 is around 2800 iirc, but i have an sr so im not sure what the gearing difference is.
check the connection on from the ecu to the brown plug and make sure its plugged in all the way, i think thats my problem
