S13 chassis
after putting my motor in my new chassis. I drove it real quick, then went to bleed the coolant. I havent tried bleeding it from a cold start yet..but the heat is hot, No coolant goes into overflow, no loss of coolant, but my issue is when i drive the temp guage goes up, when i stop its down, sometimes it says its just slightly above op temp. and sometimes its perfect..
was wondering what it could be? I have a new waterpump, koyo rad, greddy rad cap, samco hoses, new heater hoses.

so at idle its at operating temp as soon as i drive it shoots up, when i stop it goes back down..then when i drive it goes up..as soon as i pull over it goes back down..

let me know what you find out cuz mine does the same thing, except when im cruising it starts to creep up but if i get into boost or decel it goes back down...and i have an aftermarket gauge too.

Ill deff let you know..I need an injector So i cant really test to see if ive fixed anything. I found a ground in the body harness engine bay area that wasnt on all the way..thinking that had something to do with it, well hoping. I wish i could tell if it was actually over heating or not.

does it seem like your upper rad hose is really hot and feels like its going to burst after driving around for a while? and how does your lower rad hose feel?

They both feel hot like normal hot

Have you tried replacing the temperature switch yet? The one for the gauge cluster not the ECU coolant temp sensor.

1. Use the clutch fan and OEM fan shroud
2. The coolant temp sensor in the intake manifold is different from 1992-1998 S13 sr20 engines. Go to autozone and buy the 1992 SR20DE Sentra Coolant temp sensor for your S13 cluster to work right.
You must have a blacktop engine? J4 ecu? E5?

etc,etc
greddy rad cap
This is probably why your car is overheating. I believe Greddy radiator caps hold a higher pressure, which would explain why you're not seeing anything move in the overflow.
Try bleeding it from a cold start with the radiator cap off and heater on. If bubbles don't appear and you still have the same problem, then I would agree with what other people are saying.
