um..your very wrong NISMO SKYLINE
mckinney motorsports finshed theres quite a few months ago (did rb25 and rb26dett)
also some folks in FL did it too before that, iirc (rb26dett)
as far as s14s, that dood in FL (i forget his name, had the 2jz in the car previously) has one in/going in and he knows what he's doing
ive seen it done on some s14s in the USA before too (lilgtr i think had it)
didn't lil gtr have only rwd on his rb26dett? or maybe im wrong

Come on give Dousan a break, he made one mistake, and it's not that big of a deal....I was unsure when I first read the post if he was asking if the motor or motor/drivetrain was swapped so maybe you are all right okay.

i give you a hard time because you post everytime you got a question. its just annoying. seriously. stop! read more before posting. you need your hand held on EVERYTHING about your car.

I've done a lot actually on my own. I post a lot because I frequently mod (have the cash all at once)... I always search this board and others before I post, so what's the big deal? That's what car forums are for.

alot of people put rb's in old 240z, thats my plan, but anywa there is an old 70's z in japan with the full awd out of a skyline

AWD=no fun. after owning a DSM it's fun just for the sheer launching power at the dragstrip, but not much fun otherwise. plus way too much work/money on the 240, i'll spend that money on getting my rwd to grip like an AWD and still save some cash.

Am I correct in assuming that no shop in america has performed an AWD RB26DETT in a 240 yet? I have talked to McKinney, Heavy Throttle, and Enjuku, and they know of no one out there who has completed it successfully. If there is someone who has done this, please let me know.
Thanks- s14slider

There is a shop up in NC called JDM Parts Plus. They started working on doing it 4 months ago and are making plans on fabricating every to do and then to start selling kits. However I have not talked to them since I found this out so you might want to give them a call 919-759-0533. They are nice guys and very ambishious.

Ya anyways, AWD 240 is a waste. Although the ATTESSA (sp?) AWD basically is a RWD car with a little bit of help from the fronts when needed.
For the most part someone who would do such a thing would just make it a show car :( .

gah he was just asking whos done it.
i know of one guy who has a project underway for the longest time.
only odds of it being done before are in japan where it may have come to light.
its a ... just think r32 gtr convertable.
his responce to why he was doing it was, 'because i can'. he has all the parts, hes doing it himself, has a r32 gtr as is, fully modded, and is a great guy.
why question why ppl mod their car, so long as they drive it with the intention to drive it, why do you have to bad mouth anyone who does it. everyone in the enthusiest world (this excludes newb's - noobs, and ricers) knows of how much the swaps costs and whats involved. So dont suggest something that they already know of why they are doing it. im aware many pepole dont, but for those that do, why question it. hmm i think i sound kinda backwards but main point is, stop trying to be original and do what you want.... fuck this is said everyday, useless to repeat it :)
give it a rest, yal haters of everything. your supposed to enjoy car life not shit all over it. your haters of haters.

adding the attessa system to a 240, to me would be useless because its defeating the purpose of using a light chassis. by that i mean, adding all that weight to it, im sure it will weigh just as much as a skyline. Though i believe the s13'14's look closer to a sports car than does a skyline IMO. If you got $$$ who cares! go ahead, i love seeing those one time rare things on our cars. i think i could be happy with a 25 in a 240, its already alot of motor for a small car, 12's and 11's without much work, and thats serious speed.

Back when i used to work in teh ricer scene, i remember speaking to some guy claiming he had did an AWD RB swap into an s13 hatch... said they took a whole R32 and pretty much hacked it.. I question wiether this was true or not now.
But hey, someone did a SR20 RWD swap into a 1st gen Altima.. http://www.locustom.com/rwd_altima.htm
The shop doing the AWD S14 is Over Rev in ontario Socal , I actually know the exgirlfriend of the owner, and they seem like a cool shop. they got a 450hp Del Sol. Thier site was overrev.net but I guess its down right now.
I just think its gonna be crappy without R&D and proper track tuning, otherwise with them, im sure its just gonna be a show piece.

1JZ does sound a lot better than RB..... why kill the FR platform of an S-Chassis w/ an AWD setup?
Even for drag, you could do much more staying FR.

It has been done, the name of the shop is www.overrev.net
The owner of the car works for ADR Wheels, his name is Tung I believe. He's a sales rep at their Ontario, CA location.
I was talking to him about his car last week. They really had to hack it up to make it work. It's really not worth it.
The RB25DET Transmission is stronger than the RB26 due to the fact you don't have all the Altessa AWD stuff crammed in their.
They built the car as a demo car for Over Rev, but I don't think its worth doing for someone who would daily drive it.
The RB25DET trans clears but it is a crazy tight fit. The RB26DETT is so bulky and heavy I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

yeah that car is koo, everything is custom. If you saw that car in person, you'll see how much fabbing went into the front end. As of now it's running but they're working some minor bugs, should be done sometime soon. Also that car is gonna be bling bling, it's gettin some 4 inch deep dish work wheels, meisters i think. koo stuff.
