The car made 312hp and 320tq on 13 psi on a superflow dyno. It is now on 21psi which is around 400 with the new borgwarner. Iv had the car for about a year, but its by far the cleanest sc3/400 iv seen (iv owned 4). Everything was done right, and is currently my daily driver. Has absolutely NO RUST – (very common for these to have rust out above the windshield and thus you get rained on, inside the car) As far as price goes, I don’t have to sell the car by any means. The only thing this car needs right now is a new set of tires. Im somewhat flexible on the price, but id like to see what trades are out there.

Thanx bro!

yea to clear up the misconception about rotaries, any rotary specialist/mechanic will say that they are just as reliable if not more than conventional engines. Its just that the general public neglect maintenance on all cars and not just rotaries. the thing is; rx7s/8s need to be well lubricated cause of their apex seals. Enthusiast swear by them because their enthusiasts and obviously keep up with maintenance.

these seals blow cause every rotary has a oil metering pump (OMP) that distributes a bit of oil in the motor. Again, general drivers of these cars think they can go 5,000 plus miles between oil changes and dont realize that the OMP utilizes the lubricants that they dont change out often enough.

Most guys who modify rotaries do not rely on the OMP for lube to the engine and simply put oil into the gas tank before every fill up. I already have a simple measuring canister in the glove box that help me measure 1 ounce per gallon of TC-W3 oil ($3/quart @ autozone, walmart, gastations, anywhere) in my tank. Its literally that simple. some even use this method in conjunction with the OMP.

I wouldnt sell anyone on a product their not comfortable in having but as far as reliability goes, I look at it this way... the modifying scene is still flooded with FC's and FD's. they have lasted just as long as any other sports compact from their era. their amazing cars with amazing motors. it just takes some know how =) and if anyone is ever interested, i encourage you to ask any one of you car buddies if they know someone whos modified rotaries before. have them come take a look at my car with you. guarantee they will be blown away by how healthy it sounds and is

sorry for the long reply bwahaha

Dude knows his stuff. I had a 94 Mazda Miata with a twin turbo 13b once upon a time. They are simple to work on. Three moving parts isn't that complicated when you think about it. If you can work on a 1jz then a rotary should be simple.

Disclaimer: I may or may not be drunk posting this.

*Facepalm

For real though; It's a super duper awesome rad unicorn machine. Shits rainbows and all. Looks great, makes big turbo whitsle noises and the nine yards. Females may or may not be included in sale, you know girls...most love long black things so they are all about this life.

Infact, nobody should by this car just so he is stuck with it...because nothing will ever be as awesome as this car.

This is the 10th+ time you posted this thing for sale dude.

Is this the same car Domo sold on ClubLexus for 8500obo???

enot767
08-28-2012, 12:56 PM
I bought it off Vadriven. But, yes. However, please keep in mind the car was a wiring nightmare (the electric fan wiring melted together and nearly caught on fire) - which I fixed, the turbo blew up ("after 5 months"), the head was shot (he never changed the oil it seemed), the injectors were to small (stock injectors on 21psi..), the safc was shit, he had a pinched wire under alternator that gave it a stutter which he thought was an issue with the safc and that you could "tune it out". Did I mention the ac didn't work (all new gaskets, everywhere), the wideband died, Alternator wasn't new, starter went out, brakes were shot, the tires were balding, the TT Wheels were cracked...

Would you like me to keep going?

Because, yes that piece was worth around $8500.00. And if I didn't do anything to it, I probably would sell it for around the same price or less. But since it's not in the same condition, nor is it his anymore. I have every right to list it at what price I see fit. If you do have a problem with this, pm and we can go from there.

Btw, nice first post.
