{{{MAF QUESTION}}}

Whats up zilvians, i just hooke up my t3/t4 turbo kit with a top mount manifold. I have a jdm sport waste gate (7lb spring) and bov, 600cc injectors and a pretty big intercooler set up. I was wondering am i going to need to run a maf with this set up? Me personally always thought you needed to run one but my buddy who helped assemble my turd said i might not need to run one with my set up, he told me to do some research. Hes a pretty smart kid though and has a z32 maf for me if i do.

{{{TUNE}}}
So like i said i have 600cc injectors with a t3/t4 turbo. I have a greddy e-manage for it and its cleared so i need to tune it for my car with my turbo set up. Im new to this turbo and tune stuff so i would appreciate it if someone told me what specifications (i know you guys dont know my specs, but i mean like where to find them) i'll need to tell the person who can tune my emanage so they can tune it properly.

Thanks a ton everybody advice good or bad is always appreciated :D !!

Oh and P.S. if any one on here knows someone good i can send my emanage to that would be awesome.

our cars run on maf so youll need the n62(z32maf)

if ur going map(no maf) emanage ultmt can do map sensors but the basic blues dont i think.

I dont hear much about ppl running emanage but arnt the values fuel adjustments only limited to +50/-50? if it is you cant use your 600cc the most is 550cc you can use with standalones. correct me if im wrong.

i would sell the emanage and buy a ecu, if your obd1 you can use a s13 ecu, im using rs enthalpy s13 ecu with a home made jumper for s13 ecu to s14 harness.

as for turbo if its a ebay one, take it apart completely and have the center part cleaned as they have metal shavings in them and buy a staggered exhaust oil ring.
i say this for 2 reasons, 1 the shavings they leave in side causes binding/damage inside the housing and 2 oil tends to leak past the rear oil seals as the gap are larger then normal when seated. the staggered oil ring greatly reduce oil blow by due to being well staggered.

im running cx racing t3/t4 doing the same with great results its also a ebay turbo

This is not going to please you but, it looks like you have fallen for ebay crap. You cant do anything with these.

The only thing that you really might be able to use are the injectors, depending on their brand.

Bin the emanage too, it can only be used to tweak fuel, i.e. it is good to use with an oem setup to make small corrections.

Sorry.

ask before you buy (not to the seller)

There is a reason why quality parts are not cheap.

You need either a Z32 maf or a MAP + IAT setup . Cheapest option i know is Z32 maf + nistune board in your ECU, but it works only if you know someone who can map it. And good injectors too.

Now with that nistune i know the type 4 board will work but do i just use that with my stock ecu after i get it mapped? (like i said im a turbo noob lol)

But thanks guys for the advice so far, learning new shit is what i like so keep it coming, preety helpful stuff so far, and i knew the ebay shit was junk but the whole kit was 600$ so now i can seel some stuff too

And i was also told to prevent the ebay turbo from craping out so early, like they always do, to put a restrictor on either the oil return or dump line...does this seem to be correct lol?

restrictor for oil feed use the smallest one, and drain use what u have.

i would just get a tune if i was you instead of the emanage.

you can look in the fs threads and look for an ecu to ur specs for sale.

most i see are 550cc tho not 600cc so you may have to sell what you have and pick up some 550cc, sti yellow cap 550cc are found for pretty cheap.

this guy can reflash so find out if he can make it to ur specs and buy this and sell the emanage,

Will the type 3 board work with the s14 ka? My body is an s13 coupe but i have an s14 ka in it, i know the body style wont matter for the ecu, just some info.

I dont know which board fits your engine, i am using the type1 on a CA18DET (S13 come standard with them here) .

Nistune just allows (nearly) full control over the OEM ECU, that is what allows you to have someone tune your car. The emanage only allows fuel tuning, but it mostly is timing tuning that gives power / makes holes in pistons (depends if it is done correctly or not).

Ebay intercoolers are fine, ebay turbos and manis are not. Manis usually crack and have banana shaped flanges, and turbos... most of the time they are just for show. Big and badly sized, they either will spool are 5000rpm or get out of puff at 3500.

Injectors ... well i nearly fried my engine with ebay injectors. The problem is they were supposed to be 660, but they ranged from 480 to 610cc/min, when they werent stuck open. I could not map the car correctly so i had them cleaned and tested ... A lot of people just believed what was on the box and blew their engine, mostly on supras ... the guy sells stuff with the name TLF performance. He is a blatant liar, telling at first his injectors were ok and it was my setup, then when the test results arrived told me he would refund when he gets them back.

And i did trust it, so i sent them back ... never got my money back of course, and paypal protection expired by that time.

Anyway, no cheap injectors. So, who sold them, and what make is it ?

Its cool that you're in France...im French (My last name is Clerc)!!! But anyways im not using the ebay mani or the intercooler and will definitely uprgrade the turbo when it goes but im going to buy a nistune type 4 board cause that one is for my motor and im also buying the sti yellow cap injectors. So once i get the nistune board i just send it to someone and give them my specs then they tune it? And a z32 maf**

S13 KA24E can just be chipped like the ca18det can.
s13 ka24de needs daughter board to tune
s14 ka24de needs daughter board to tune

if you have a s14 motor makes no differents ur still using s13 ka24de engine harness so you need a type 3.

i have a s14 with a s13 motor but using s14 harness so i have to use a s14 ecu or make a jumper and use a s13 ecu.

so wat ever harness ur using use that ecu to that harness

blue ecu connector uses s13 type 3
white ecu connector use type 4

ecu plug end:white s14 ecu
blue s13 ecu.

get it? the only differents on s14 ka and s13 ka is the upper/lower intake manifold and vc/head, s13 had 3 bolts on top of the vc s14 has 2 on top of the vc.

so from my understanding ur using a s14 block/ head, s13 dizzy with external coil, intake manifold, engine harness and ecu. so you need the type 3.

No you dont send it to someone, you get your car to a tuner, no one can map a car without getting its hands on it. Otherwise it just is the same as getting an off the shelf chip, which mostly exist for a T28 turbo, SR20/Z32 Mafs and 440/550cc injectors.

As long as MAF and injectors are not the same it wont work.
