View Full Version : how can u tell if u have a manual ecu or auto?

hey guys, im picking up an ecu tomorrow the guy says its for a manual 240 but how can you know for sure? the part number sticker thingy is on it. what numbers am i suppose to look for to find out if its really a 5spd ecu for my s14 ka?

THIS THREAD DELIVERS!!!!! OP, most people actually prefer to run an auto ka ecu on their manual transmission cars, because it deletes the speed cut that 5speed ecus have. Just for future reference.

for sure dude, i love zilvia haha.
and ya but i need the 5spd ecu to get rid of my cel cause i have a bunch of codes and i didnt do the swap, i bought the car incomplete so im just trying to figure everything out. i'm still gona keep my auto ecu for the future, just in case ;)

I have been able to google any ecu i have had my hands on. you will find it pretty easy with a search.
