Hello Zilvia,
Today I picked up a 1990 s13 with an sr20, and it is not running. The p/o said he had it running okay with a ka harness, but was having some issues.
So he bought an sr20 harness, put it in, and now it wont fire.
I havent messed with it, but I dont know much and would definitely struggle on my own. Tomorrow morning I'll be putting in the intercooler, charging the battery and starting to diagnose the problem (its not likely ill actually find it).
Where should I start?
What should I check?
Please help me out here Zilvia!

figure out if the new s13 sr harness is wired up to adapt the US chassis.

figure out if the p/o bought the rite sr harness. a type-x harness wont work w/o being re-pinned for a redtop or regular blacktop.

How would I go about checking that?

Get an Ecu pinout from google images, then start tracing wires to make sure that each terminal is connected to the correct thing. Don't worry, there's only 40-50 of em.

and on the passenger side fender in the bay by the battery there's 2 power plugs to hook up to with the harness that you have to wire in to the sr harness. and you could also by a pre-made harness for the motor and ecu that you have but it'll run you a few $'s.

Charged the battery and the good news is, its turning over. Now I need to check sparkplugs to see if they are getting power and injectors to see if they are getting fuel. Any other suggestions?

just do that and go from there. way too many possibilities right now. once you figure out what it's not getting then start breaking down those components and tracing stuff.

Everything is hooked up, the engine is getting a spark but its still not firing. I'm assuming its not getting fuel. Whats the best way to check the pump?
Also the car has been sitting for awhile so would it be worthwhile to drain any fuel out of the tank and put some fresh 93 in?
