ok took my car to a shop to get the engine built and my car used to have a big power cord from the battery to the starter. well i get the car back and the power cord is gone and now they got 2 big black/red wires coming out the harness connected to them but i swear before i brought the car those black/red wires were bolted to the frame as grounds??? so are the power wires or groungs??
p.s i traded for this car and they were wired to the frame. so either who ever wired the car first was wrong or the shop i brought it to is

There should be a big power cord to the starter and a little lead. The big lead is battery power and the little terminal lead is crank signal. The starter grounds internally to the block/transmission. The ground line goes from the intake manifold to the chassis ground then to the battery.
Do you have pictures of what they did?
