i have a s13 sr blacktop in my 95 s14. after swapping and starting it i noticed the temp gauge was reading hot.... like way up to the top line... i have replaced the temp sensor with a s14 ka sensor, has bran new mishimoto rad, new enjuku hoses and theres no kinks.... i have tried to bleed the hoses of air and still nothing... the upper hose gets warm but not extremly hot, and the lower hose doesnt seem to get hot at all... im lost and idk what to do... my first engine swap and my frist nissan.... please help... also i have searched until my keyboard told me to f**k off

You need to change the water temp sensor on the SR and put your KA water temp sensor (1 prong sensor on top of the thermostat). You need an S14 water temp sensor, the S13 one will read too high on the stock gauge.

Bleed the system, jack the front up as high as you can with the car running, pop the radiator and massage the upper radiator hose, while keeping the radiator topped off. Do this until you stop seeing bubbles come out the radiator and you start feeling the hose get hot.
Put the cap back on, feel the bottom hose and see if thats getting hot after a while. If that doesnt get hot after a while, your thermostat isnt opening.
Also where did you get the water temp sensor from? Was it the same one that was in your KA and swapped over? If you ended up buying a new sensor instead, you could have the wrong sensor. Autozone/Advance doesnt differentiate between chassis. They only carry one sensor if thats where you bought it from.

i always buy my parts from oreillys... it was a bran new sensor and they asked what year, make, model and if it was a base or se lol... ill try lifting the front and bleed the system again... and i might just buy a thermostat and be safe too.

Well, just to make sure, go back to oreilly's and have them check if they have the same part number for S13 and S14s.
As far as the thermo, you didnt replace it when you did the install? It might be stuck. Like I said, if the lower rad hose doesnt get hot, that means the thermo isnt opening. If you put in a fresh one in there, go ahead and pop off the lil jiggle valve up top and make sure you orient the hole at the 12 position.
