I have a 90 240sx hatch, Its a project/daily. just did the clutch, and noticed a crack in my head! time for a new engine... I am currently deciding between an SR20det (or just de) a dual cam KA or another single cam KA. Money is a factor here, Im only making about 650$ a month. but i live rent free. I am also selling my other car. (at LEAST $2500.) The car needs misc other things also. C/o's body work, Exhaust work, just random stuff. I need to daily the car for quite a while. but i also enjoy getting a little sideways now and then. I need some opinions, Is it worth holding out for the SR if a majority of driving is daily? Should i just do another KA for cheap? (turbo in the future?) I need some opinions!

Find a cheap OBD1 KA24DE, throw it in. They can be had running from free-$500. 300 is reasonable if it's in good condition.

Later down the road, get another KA, build it, swap it in, and turbo it.

Where would i go about finding one?

Searchtempest.com

I'd search for "(ka24|ka24de)" without quotes under auto parts.

Also try "ka". Less relevant results, but you might find something good.

They should be all over. Just make sure you get a RWD OBD1 KA24DE. You don't want wiring issues or anything else.

If you bring me the vehicle I can have the sr20det swapped in while you wait for about 4k including the engine and all parts, it takes about 6 hours and that is a gross overestimation. You can have the car shipped here then drive it home also. The city is davie, fl 33321

Honestly I would go ahead and get another KA, whether it be single or dual cam, and go from there. It seems like money will be an issue for you. If you are serious about drifting, save up and get some decent suspension and get seat time. A stock KA will be more than capable for a novice drifter. Suspension is the most important aspect in most motor sports IMO, however it is commonly over looked.
