been having trouble with my car. it has a series 2 rb25det with greddy plenum, q45 throttle body, full race exhaust manifold, and garrett turbo. (stock maf and injectors) anyway. it drives fine but smells pig rich and cant run o2 sensor. when i connect it, it fouls out my plugs almost instantly. i was told i may have the wrong ecu... im hoping someone here can identify it. when i type in the numbers its all in russian and all i seem to find is that its from a nissan laurel. thanks in advance!!

Yea it's weird, I found something that said it's for an RB25DE, but it's in another language.

I believe that's a Euro C34 RB25DE ECU or some mash up that's not often seen, when I ran the numbers the first time it came up with CA16DE.
Your looking for this guy here.

Thanks for the info. I found a mines tuned ecu with those numbers, would you recommend a mines ecu?

They aren't bad. How much is it going for is the real deal breaker.

I'm getting it for 200. But the thing is I don't know what mines ecu's are tuned for

Then dont buy it unless you know for certain.

For all you know it could be a GT35R with 1000cc injectors and a Z32 MAFS

Agreed, unless you can get it retuned or guarantee its for stock then shy away and stick with stock.

ok. so i ordered the mines ecu anyway and decided to give it a try, and if it didnt work return it! tried just direct ecu swap.....nothing! Then thought it might be tuned for z32 maf, so tried that....still nothing! but it will fire up with no maf connected at all, just wont rev past 3k. Is there any other maf possibilities they might have used to tune that mines xprom??

What color is the tag on the MAFS and the # .

Your should be a Pink Tagged E60 for a Series 2

Certain Years Infinity J30 chassis should have the same MAFS

rb25 s2 maf i have is an e60 pink label
z32 maf is n62 orange label.
i know both mafs are good.

I think your asking for trouble with using that mines ecu at all. No one really has any idea on what its tuned for. You are going to have problems, for example, a lot of those tuner ecus from Japan are tuned for 98-100 octane gas. Also who knows what injectors that thing is programmed for either. Just get a stock ecu to get your self on the road. You could of been driving this thing already!

Also, fyi, your catch can/pcv system is fucked, you are going to suck in un-metered air when the pcv valve is open and the valve covers will never see vacuum. If you are going to use that system get rid of the filter vent and connect it to the intake between the turbo and the maf.

Like the others have said, who knows what its tuned for. Return it while you can. Save a lil more and atleast get powerfc or 300zx ecu with nistune. Then you can input proper injector size and maf. Not to mention get a tune that matches the airflow requirements of your setup. That intake kills velocity which means low end torque, so does that throttle body. Thats probably why so rich down low. Then once that turbo spools you wont have enough fuel to even use it much above 7 psi. And the timing will be off too.
Bottom line get a proper ecu/tune, dont bandaid over something like brain surgery.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. Just got outta the post office and returned the ecu. Question though, what ecu is required to run nistune? I've heard z32 but a local shop tells me I need an r32 gtr ecu...any suggestions???

Gtr ecu doesnt have vct capability. 300zx does.

Straight from Nistune, this should answer your questions. Nistune is a great way to jump up to standalone status and not break the bank. Stay away from the GTR ECU unless you plan to take off the VCT or move that head over to a RB30 setup.
