300zx brake help

First post ever on this site so please be gentle :newbie:

So i got brakes off of a 300zx but couldn't get the complete set for the rears. Seems that im missing some drum assembly parts. I also have a 1 1/16 master cylinder that i plan on putting in as well. My question is, can i install the front brakes and master cylinder without the rears? I will eventually install the rears once they're complete, but will it make a difference with only the fronts?

S14, sure. S13, you need rears.

make sure u have the 3rd brake fitting installed in the 300zx master cylinder otherwise it"ll leak like crazy

Q45 and Z32 drum brake assembly are the same so you can source them out at the junk yard.
I'll try finding the PDF in case someone says they're not interchangeable

You don't have to change the master cylinder if u don't want too. I have a 300zx front situp and I still have the my stock master cylinder It works just fine.

Thanks for that tip but i just ordered the z32 stock drum assembly on ebay.


Quick question for those who have done the swap:
where do you guys get the flair fitting for the 3rd hole in the master cylinder?
Ive read that some people salvage it out the stock one but id rather not destroy the stock one. Can the flair fitting be bought online or anywhere?
