Has anyone stuck a subwoofer in their doors yet? I'm thinking about putting in a 8" or possibly a 10" subwoofer in the doors. Anyone do it yet and take pictures?

One of my friends was able to put a JL 10w6 in the side panel of a Ford Explorer. I can tell you for sure you won't be able to put a 10 in a door unless you build a custom panel and do some serious modificatio to it. The best bet is to use your rear deck for a free air subwoofer if that's your goal.

yeah i seen a lot of pix of custom work fitting the subs. I guess my question was too general since there's a possibility to fit any size sub. The 95' + 240's have so much room in the door panels it's amazing. That's why I opted to run the subs in the door rather than putting a sub box. I guess I'll try it soon as I'm down with my kick panels.

Btw there's a lot of room for components to go in the kicks. Just gotta move the fuse box further in on the driver side and the ecu in the glove compartment or under the dash.

...just make sure to seal the door or area you are putting the sub in really well. No air leaks whatsoever. Also make sure you have adequate air space. You can make a nice sub sound like crap without correct air space.

Yeah, Id heard bout people putting 10"s in the back panels next to the rear seat.
I was thinking about doin that.
You might have some serious rattling issues if you put it in the door though.

Thats what I was thinking when I saw your post! Why would you want to ? Why don't you put componets in the kick panels...and 8s or 6.5's for the notes that your sub can't quite make, but your mids won't touch....balanced sound:).....Oh how I miss that .....well,not really :rawk:

EDIT:And to answer your question? Yes,I am very into MY car stereo....all 860 watts of it :naughtyd:

GhettoKracker, I use to be in Car stereo too. Worked like five years in a stereo shop. Kind of just got away from it. If only I had known some of you were into Car stereo, cause I just sold my 4channel ADS amp, and all my high end Monster cable interconnects.
