I agree that you cant make a FWD car and then claim it "will be aimed squarely at the Toyota GT86/Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ." If Nissan does do this they better make sure its rwd..

Prob won't happen. If its fwd it won't even compete. Civics are also min. 1.8L now no more 1.6L, the SI has a 2.4L now and makes over 200hp. The concept mini-z doesn't look too bad be great if they can make it RWD with a bigger motor than that 1.6 Turbo from the Juke.

Did anyone actually read the article? AWD with torque vectoring........ or FWD(base). Turbo. Better power range. If it looks like that first main pic (which I doubt) I think its better already. And under 22k? Yea its the better deal. Wouldn't be hard to get more out of it either. But rwd is always more fun to drive. I wouldn't buy either of the cars personally. Reminds me of the classic penny racers when I was a kid.

Yes and no...Nissan is reviving the name to build cheap, econo cars to import into China/India type places. I just hope they think about building another 510, they were cheap right? But my impression is they're building something cheaper to compete with Tata Motors in India.

Funny thing is they kinda did. I don't think Zilvia would be a credible source for them but Toyota did take looks at Club4ag as well as collected input from the loyal 86 community in many forms.

Unfortunately I dont think there is a stong enough mature dedicated fan base for Nissan to do the same.

All things said though the formula is pretty obvious.

Relativly light, RWD, 2+2, under 30K. Thats really all it takes.

Already posted a while back when I was appalled in canceling the S16 project. I got the 370z, but I still want another light-weight RWD 240sx. As much as I like the Z, I still treat my S13 like a truck. Since it is my dedicated track car, the Z's trunk space sucks so much.
