I'm tired of 99% of this forum praising their precious sunroofs. Guess what? Sunroofs blow, you know it, I sure as hell know it. They are leaky wind-whistling bundles of fail.

This thread will be dedicated to all the awesome s-chassis vehicles that DO NOT have a sunroof/moonroof. Post pictures of hardtop S13, S14, S15 and overall discussion about why hardtops are king. Oh and don't you even think about posting pictures of a vert, LOL.

You people still don't get it. This is an appreciation thread. This is a thread for the select few who enjoy all of the benefits of hardtop s-chassis's. This thread is no different than Zenki's Unite or the kouki 180sx aero thread.

If you aren't a fan of the hardtops than kindly exit this thread. I'm sure you have better things to do like fix that leaky roof or maybe tighten up the latch so it doesn't slam close when you hit a bump... LOL!

A hardtop is constant. It's condition will not change. Your sunroof will eventually give you a problem.

It's the same reason why I prefer to have a manual window on my driver side. One less component to fail. As long as I have a left arm that is functional, it's fail proof.

i love my sunroof. and yes it does leak, but only if i park it and it rains. i just wipe all the water off and no leaking. its a fucking 1989 of course its gonna leak. sometimes giving friends rides home from work after rained, i would slam on the brakes and all the water poors out on there head its fucking hilarious.

This thread is great. I like how people are actually crying about it. Me personally I am ordering a new roof without sunroof just so I don't have sunroof on my coupe. The sunroof takes away from the sporty look and just looks plain stupid. Old, tacky and doesn't flow well in my opinion. There have been plenty of pics of cars where I think it would look a lot better without the sunroof.

Put it this way, if you could buy a brand new 240 today would you opt for the sunroof? Fuck no you wouldn't.

Ironically, the sunroof was a great sleeper way to let your "thc" out of the cabin while cruising. Ah the good old days.

I believe you have your terminology wrong. It is to my understanding that the hatches only got manual flip-up sunroofs and the coupes got the power sliding sunroofs aka "moonroofs".

Just to get this thread back on topic for those of you who still don't "get it".

The purpose of this thread is to get a roll call of all the s-chassis owners who honestly prefer hardtops over sunroof models. Being in the s-chassis game for awhile now, I have noticed a steep trend in people who prefer sunroofs, or people who aspire to get an s-chassis with a sunroof. I already knew before creating this thread that the majority of Zilvia would be opposed to this.

Most of you are saying "This is a joke, who cares?". But that's not the point. This is a website geared toward these vehicles. Where is the passion? Where is the enthusiasm? Everyone just wants to piss on everyone else, take their $500 shit bucket 240sx and instead of restoring it, they would rather drift it into the nearest light post. Sure I cracked a few jokes, made some observations about sunroof owners, all in good fun.

The people who are taking the most offense to this thread are in fact sunroof owners. I would expect a respectable person to say something along the likes of, "Sweet, I actually own a sunroof model and I prefer them, but I have an appreciation for people who own hardtops too! Nice cars everyone! Later!!!"

But instead we get a bunch of immature pricks who create parody threads to spite me and others who continuously say "this is the dumbest shit ever, op is a retard, ib4thelock, etc etc"

Since 240s are from the 90's, nobody can actually choose a hardtop or moonroof. Its more of like gambling when buying one of these cars.

I'd be happy just to find a clean title 240 that runs and has most if not all of the car in one piece. Especially since all these people in this thread are the ones responsible for fucking up these cars with shitty knock off parts.

Just go fucking drive the car regardless of what model and what options it has.
