ZEX Nitrous

ZEX is a new computerized nos system ,it mixes with ur gas.
i know a guy with a stock neon that has it its a auto matic neon,he ran like a 16 with it,also some guy with a stock old celica has it it no harm is done .. so should i get it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

Put that $500 toward a turbo or something worth while...nitrous is lame. If you already have a turbo and have a built up engine and want more power w/out a ton of money for the drag strip then go for it. If this is your only power mod other than intake and exhaust then I wouldn't do it. Keep in mind, for every 50 shot of nitrous (which lasts less than 20 seconds) you get the same ammount of engine wear as if you had just drove 5000 miles! Better use good oil and change it often...

How big of a shot of nitrous is it and what year is your car? I would always recommend a NOS kit with JWT chip over pretty much anything.

Where did you hear this from and how did they measure that number out? Sounds like the ussual anti-nitrous myth's.

It gives it no more #### then any other mod that add's 50 HP.

i've heard detonation hurts motors, not nitrous alone. a turbo can do the same, don't ya knowwwwww. it's almost like saying a turbo reduce engine life (which it may) but i don't see turbo cars lasting only 100,000

I've had some past experience with the ZEX kit first hand. &nbsp;I helped install one on a DC2 LS Integra and a '97 Taurus SHO. &nbsp;The Integra ran it with the 75hp shot nozzle, and the SHO opted to get a 100hp shot nozzle from NX. &nbsp;The system is a cinch to install...you just have to know what you're doing. &nbsp;The only problem we ran into with the two installs, was the two owners didn't know where their TPS's were. &nbsp;A quick test with a multimeter turned up the right wires though. &nbsp;On the Integra, the 75 shot nozzle made one #### of a difference. &nbsp;On the SHO, even with the 100 shot nozzle, it still only brought the near 2-ton family car to a whopping 14.5 sec 1/4 mile...I was quite unimpressed with the kit on that car, but that's not the kit's fault. &nbsp;It's the car's....The kit is very good quality and for a dry kit, it's the cheapest, easiest to install I've seen available.

Before you get it though, make sure you look at the cost of refills. . . Nice thing about the turbo setups is that aside from oil, there are no consumables, no added cost down the road.

2 things
1 i think he said it mixes with gas, so it would be a wet system - harder to install
2 i was reading a nos ad and it said it doesent harm the engine (of course youd have to have the proper kit) but if it did it would be fals advertising and therefor i dont think they would lie

Well...it DOES NOT mix with gas...The Zex kit is a dry kit...I should know after installing two of them! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> The nitrous jets are inserted into your intake piping aimed towards the throttle body...No mixing of gas here. &nbsp;If it was a wet kit, I probably wouldn't have done the installs. &nbsp;From my knowledge, wet kits are more dangerous if not properly tuned/used. &nbsp;Personally, I wouldn't use nitrous for anything but possibly a turbo spool up kit, like JWT has done in the past. &nbsp;They program their ECU to utilize a separate nitrous system to be on as you get on the throttle, but as soon as the turbo spools up, the nitrous cuts out. &nbsp;Thus bringing turbo lag to a minimum, by helping spool the turbine to operational RPMs.
