Why not just mount directly to the bar, and tie off the excess?
The longer your harnesses are, the more stretch they will have. In a severe collision, that long of a harness will stretch. This will be compounded by any shift in the location of the harness bar in relation to the seat, the floor, and your mounting points.
Just loop them to the bar, roll up the excess, and ziptie it under the loop out of the way. It will be safer, easier, and cleaner.

I've contemplated this, but I have Status long harnesses, and honestly it'd almost be better to just sell them and get a new harness with how much extra I'd have to roll up. At the same time I thought about this as the mounting location I'd like to do on the step up is far shorter than extending all the way back which would make still more than being wrapped, but far less than being extended back.

Im no expert but i have spoken to my co-worker about this and he was an ex racecar mechanic. He said unless you have a cage in a car you should never put in a harness. He said if you have a bar in the back and you get hit in the quarter or rear ended and it shifts the mounting points one of two things will happen: the harness will tighten up and crush your ribs or the harness will loosen up and you will faceplant the nearest object in your cabin. And that is why i will never put a harness into any street car i own unless it has a proper cage in it and im wearing a helmet haha.
