All Angled Gauge Setups Include Universal Brackets:

http://images42.fotki.com/v664/photos/2/47612/9700254/IMG_8729-vi.jpg

The brackets can be cut/modified to accommodate virtually any gauge. This will ensure the gauges do not budge when mounted in the plate. On top of that, the mounting bracket gives you the ability to also make a mounting system to hold the plate to the dash. You can simply tap out the center of the bracket and use some threaded rod to make a rock solid mounting system. I like to cut some aluminum strips to make "washers" and then some simple wing nuts to fasten it in the dash. The wing nuts make it simple to fasten while the dash is still in the car. You can find examples of the modified brackets and mounting system below. Note: I do not sell the mounting system, as it can vary depending on the brand and model of gauge. So I leave that to the consumer if they so choose.

Example of Modified Bracket:

Thanks man!

Great stuff! Anything for S14?

I can make just about anything you want... but it would have to be a one-off. The S14 obviously doesn't have a nice vent that you just pop out and slap a piece of aluminum in it's place... like the S13 does. But I can modify your OEM HVAC panel to house whatever you want:

with the s13 vent gauge plates does the dash have to be removed to install them correctly or can you do it with the dash still in?

No, that would be much more involved. The aluminum plate would need to have pivot points for the actual vent to attach to. I kind of like the idea though... I may look into it to see what the additional cost would be.

i just got my order today, on the angled pieces since they dont come attatched to the plate are the gauges themselves supposed to hold the angled piece down to the plate when i mount them? or was it intended for me to just glue the piece on

Essentially the rings are sandwiched between the plate and gauges. Ideally you want to modify the universal brackets that come with my kit and use them to bolt to the back of your gauges. You will need to cut the legs of the brackets down to fit your particular gauges. You can see examples of this in my original post.

Note: there may be some model of gauges that don't use the typical industry standard mounting points. You may have to modify the mounting holes on the brackets to get the holes to line up with your gauge mounting points. Which you can see I had to do in the example in my original post... I had to "hog" out the mounting holes to get them to line up.

2nd Note: there is the rare case that the gauge doesn't have any provisions to mount it. In this case you will have to come up with your own way to hold the gauges to the plate.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

LOL... yeah, I won't be messing with that anytime soon. Maybe over the winter.

Broadfield when are you going to have some dual guage angled with vent in stock?

I'm hoping in 2-3 weeks. The 52mm with vent has never been this popular. I have sold more in the past month than in the previous 2 years.

Three 52mm gauges will not fit in a single DIN opening on a simple plate. They would need to be molded in.

I see the issue with 3 60mm gauges being angled with like autometer, aem, and other gauges. But is it possible with a shallow gauge like defis?? Since they are so thin front to back??

It has nothing to do with depth, but there just isn't enough room to fit the angled gauge rings on the plate. I have done it before for a customer and I will never do it again. First of all, the rings have to be custom made. 60mm angled rings do not exist. Second of all, by the time you enlarge the 60mm holes to be able to angle the gauge body in the plate, there really isn't any aluminum left... no room for error. Third of all, there is no way to mount the gauges to the plate... they have to be glued in place on the backside. Even then it's very difficult as there isn't much material left. Would I do it for myself... sure! But it would cost someone a fortune for me to go through that again.

There would not be any modifications necessary... it's the brackets you have that would need to be modified.

Yes, you would need to send me the panel you want modified and the gauges you want installed into it.

Where exactly do you want the gauges and TT? Do you want the gauges flush mounted, surface mounted, angled?
