Im in the process of removing my old ka and putting in the sr and have everything readdy to come out but theres one problem. I began to hoist the motor and realized the end of the egr tube was getting stuck on the steering column :picardfp: i cut the egr tube and tried using a deep socket but it only rounded the bolt. So my question is would it be easier to seperate the steering column inside the bay (idk if this is even possible without taking the column out compleretly) or is there anything else i can do?

Easier would be to cut the tube that's on the way.

dremel would do the trick.. Or just hacksaw it halfway and the rest just flex the pipe till it breaks.

I would just move the steering column out of the way. If you look where the steering column meets the power steering rack there should be two bolts you can loosen to enable you to pry the connection loose. Just clean the pieces with a wire brush and use some moly lube before bolting it all up so it comes apart easier in the future.
