There is a 240sx (the s13 coupe) and he has a sr20det and it says he got it at v-spec in Baldwin Park Ca,. WTF! Thats my small little town where is this place. Small world just thought I could share this with you. By the way what mag do you think is better Super street (i really hate it but i just had to waste the gift certificate i got at tower records) ir Sports Compact Car?

superstreet always has the best stuff on 240sx's and silvia conversions, that and import tuner

Sport Compact is the best main stream mag, then Super Street, then Turbo (turbo is better then SS but is to small) after that if you can find Grass Roots Motorsports is good. Import tuner is a joke unless you can't read and like to look at pretty pics.

I dont like sport compact as much cuz it has some domestic copact cars in it, it hardly ever has any 240s, and turbo is all ads and hardly any pritty pictures, thats why i like import tuner, and they have some great info!! :-D

super street is 'alrite' i guess... but they hype up a lot of cars... and i dun like it.
if any of you guys/girls have learned anything about economics... when demand is boosted for a particular product, and the product is in limited supply.... the price of that product goes sky rocketting...
that is evident here in Calgary.
1/2 a year ago... a 1992-1993 240sx fastback ran for about $3k-$5k... now they've jumped to $12k-$17k... :|
not impressed.
the 1984-1987 Corolla GTS's have suffered crazy price boosts in Calgary/Canada because of this as well.

Sport Compact Car's next project will be a s13 -> Silvia conversion. It should be in stors in May. From what I know it will be a s13 coupe with front end conversion and SR swap.

Four or so years ago, there was a Nitto ad featuring a red 180SX with a body kit and the clear headlamps.

Sport Compact Car - The best for info, and very formal
Import Tuner - Very flashy cars. not bad if u like that type of stuff, but not enough info like stats and product and settings in cars
Turbo - Best for performance, if u want to know exact details of parts and settings. Only for hardcore speeders
Super Street - NICE Cars for semi-serious tuners. Kinda is in between on their cars, but the "writin" is a bunch of NUTHINESS. they jst write wat they think, isnt much info or anything....(does anyone agree?)
so Super Street for ppl who look at picks and show
import tuner for the ppl goin for show, but surely aint slow
SSC for the ppl lookin for options at of diff cars, and what is done pretty possible to a car
Turbo for the I NEED SPEED PPL
CAGuy wat mag is that ur talkin about, never heard of it can u link me or something thanx

Here's how I see it...
Sport Compact Car: More mature, well written, and very informative magazine complete with performance stats and everything. Rarely ever feature "TeH ImPoRt SHOwOfF" cars unless they're clean and most importantly, they MUST be well-tuned. They do plenty of projects on various cars in this magazine. From Civic hatchbacks to turbocharged Imprezas.
Turbo Magazine: Anything to go fast, will go here. Obviously, most of the cars in the magazine are turbocharged.
Import Tuner: Shows and hoes. That's all. If it looks flashy and wild, it goes here. You want car show women? They'll be here. ####, they didn't even know what the fuck "strawberry face" meant. The staff really needs to do their book work sometimes. Their articles, besides "Power Pages" revolve mostly on the cosmetic stats on cars. They represent anything stereotypical of "rice". Majority of the cars featured only have nothing more than a nitrous setup and bolt-ons, but they'll have a large list of cosmetic items.
Super Street: Imagine the characteristics of Sport Compact Car and Import Tuner combined togther in one magazine. That's what Super Street is. All show, all go. Sometimes you've got cars that are completely rice, but over half of the time, they do articles on some really nice cars, i.e. Sunny Lau's US Civic Type R, Steve Nakamura's AE86, Ricky Chu's S14/15, Pacific Rim's S13 Silvia etc. However, they make stupid articles which cater to idiots most of the time like, "How to drift a Honda" and stating, "The Skyline GTR is one of the drift cars you can't get here in the US." Sometimes they will have good writing, especially when they do more than just list a bunch of modifications on a car. Sometimes they would tell a story of how the car was built and what the owners had to go through to acquire or install the parts. The only thing amusing about Super Street are the staff's senses of humor. This magazine caters mostly to wannabe's.
So far, I've suscribed to Import Tuner (well, a year ago), Super Street (one and a half years ago), and I've currently suscribed to Sport Compact Car because I liked their articles better and I learned more.

www.grassrootsmotorsports.com It's a mag were they pretty much tell you about the cheapest most effective upgrade's with indepth article's and how to's. My favorite part was there yearly $2000 challenge ($2002 this year) it's a competition to see who can build the best car for $2000. To bad it's not sold as widely as the other mags.

Super Streets sucks. They dont give Nissan due credit and always make stupid remarks about them. You guys should try reading their articles before the SR20 swap became popular. They also like to follow trends and rip shit from other people. (such as their use of velocitys article on drifting) Sport Compact car's not that great either, just a bunch of guys that read up on super technical crap all the time thats very close to being completley off the topic and havent had their ego's checked in a while.
