View Full Version : KA24de into FC - maf wiring issues

Alright, I need a KA guru's help here.

I just wrapped up a seldom seen swap, dropped a dohc KA into my FC. It tends to offend rotary purists, but that's beside the point.

I simply wired up a custom engine harness, and am having some trouble with the maf wiring.

Just like the factory harness, I have the white wire powered with 12v from the ecu power relay, the black wire grounded, and the b/w wire running to the maf signal pin on the ecu. Now that it's wired up, it revs fine.

However, at lower rpm's and at idle, it runs roughly. Once it's revved though, it runs fine at higher rpms.

If I disconnect the signal wire, it idles fine and revs to about 2500, but goes into a 'safety' or 'limp' mode, not allowing it to rev higher.

Now what I'm wondering, is there any type of resistor or anything in the signal wire that I'm missing, causing it to run rough at lower rpms? I failed to see anything in the stock harness, but I'm curious as to if I'm missing anything.

Besides that, the engine runs fine.

It's an s13 dohc, 5 speed, PO removed emissions, no vacuum leaks that I can see.

Thanks!

Never mind, figured it out.

Here's a pic for shits and giggles.
