I've seen there valve retainers for sale on some sites. They are running around $200. Are these the same as BC retainers? I am thinking about coating them so I don't have to worry about galling.

So these are more durable than the BC retainers? On one website, the description states it's made out of more durable titanium than comparable manufacturers.
I've also been reading about Tech Line's coating. Its a DIY, and was thinking about using their Cerma-Lube coating. I really don't want to be replacing retainers every 15k miles.

Crower = Real Deal R+D and parts
Brian Crower = Better advertising, cheaper processing, less true R+D (rebranded stuff)
Truthfully, what are you goals with the engine? Are you spinning it to the moon or just keeping it a nice street car? I'd suggest AGAINST aftermarket retainers in all aspects of the car, this side of a low milage HIGH rpm setup.

Just curious.....Do you REALLY think crower and BC get their springs from different places? They are both from the same family and i'm 90% sure crower is owned by father, and BC by the son.

Its probably built on the same equipment. This is one of those myths I'd love to bust in person. I've talked to pops on the phone, but not to his son.
I have crower v3 KA24DE cams, springs, and retainers. 280s
im on stock retainers, im just saying

This is Dustin from BC. PAC racing in Michigan makes all of our springs and they are the same company that make them for GCS, Comp and CROWER.
