i pulled valve cover to start doing my head gasket and i turned the motor to tdc and noticed the black links on the sockets weren't lined up. so i tryed to get them to line up and they wont come anywhere close, here are some pics at tdc.

your going to be spinning it a few times for that chain to match up back with the sprockets.. thats normal

you can do one of 2 things. mark the chain with some nail polish where its at and take it apart like that or spin it till it lines up. your better off marking it with polish.. i do it by eye allready after so many swaps..

yea its normal, if you install it and line it up it will not line up again for a couple of rotations, it freaked me out too
