So it seems like nothing ever goes right with this car was gonna put the tranny back on and throw the engine back in tomorrow but of course nothing ever goes as planned. So I'm torquing the flywheel bolts down to 100 ft/lb and I get 7 all to 100 and I'm on the last one it's almost there then snap the very end of the threads broke right off the bolt. I know the answer is probably going to be no but I'll ask anyways would it be fine if I just left the threads on the bolt screwed in and just left all the other 7 to do the job or is that just asking for trouble? Also is there anything special about these ones being made for an sr20 or anything or can I just go to nissan and pick up some new flywheel bolts because I'm not waiting 2 weeks to get them shipped here.

Fuck it, took the flywheel off and used and easy out and got it out thank god. Now I'm just hoping I can find them locally at a nissan dealer or something.

What...Why would you get a new crank?
Get a bolt extractor, yank that bitch out and get some new bolts from the dealership. If your dealership doesn't have them nissanparts.cc does.

Yea, always use new flywheel bolts. They are expensive (I remember them being about 6-7 dollars a piece) but will give you peace of mind in the long run. I learned the hard way as well.

Yeah should have done it right from the beginning never thought of them stretching over time. This car's been such a headache nothing has ever gone 100% right since I started on it this winter. Oh well even if they're like $100 at the dealership I'll still get them if it means I don't have to wait.

Yeah ordered them off there today. Just didn't want to wait a week to get them but oh well that's the way it goes I guess.

I would drill out the bolts and just go to a junk yard and jack the bolts.

I know how you snapped them off, you didnt step torqued them. Always step torque flywheel bolts. Go torque them all up in star pattern to 40, 60, then 95.
