Anybody ever run NRG steering wheels? Im currently running Royal Grip but i do wanna get a suede wheel. Im just wanting to know the quality of these wheels and if they are good or not! or do you guys just recommend saving for a Sparco/Nardi? which is a couple hundred more? If anybody has pics on how a Deep Dish NRG suede would look it would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance guys!:hsdance:

Agreed, just save up and buy a used Nardi. I got my Nardi classic used for dirt cheap a couple years ago.

Suede wheels for a daily are a terrible idea. they get worn out and ugly from the oils in your hands. unless you plan to wear driving gloves everywhere you go i would advise not getting a suede wheel.

I run a leather NRG wheel. 330mm deep dish. I love it. Everyone that has driven my car enjoys the feel.

you can buy them without the stripe...it's more for reference anyways.

I have a suede nrg wheel. looked good at first. looks like shit now. i dint mind because i got it for 20 bucks. its bit better than ebay wheels.

As for for bending idk how people drive hanging on wheels or pulling them. idk about going hulk on the wheel to make it bend.

I say just go with the Nardi look better.

here's a photo in my 14.

I have a suede NRG wheel. It was like $100 new, and that's about what it's worth.

And how the fuck do people bend wheels? I daily drove this wheel for like 5 years, and probably 20 track days and its fine. Or are people just crashing into shit/eacholther?

NRG, Ebay, etc... all suck. Buy a real nardi or keep your grip Royal. Atleast the Grip Royals are decent quality.

I would imagine that NRG wheels are much better than eBay shit, as it's not really a knockoff brand. But if you're concerned about safety, wouldn't you rather the wheel bent or broke, than smash you in the face of explode your hands?

No, I wouldnt. Why? Because OEM wheels arent designed to break when you get in a wreck. Id more rather break a wrist than I would have it slit by metal when the wheel breaks. There is a reason why OEM, Nardi, Sparco, Momo, and any other quality wheels are not designed to bend when force is applied. Your theory is flawed.

While I'm sure my theory is flawed, there is also a reason why oem wheels are padded, to reduce impact. Aftermarket wheels, no matter how good they are, are rarely ever designed to be used in a street car. When you don't have a harness, your face is pretty likely to be going into the wheel.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to defend the integrity of shitty Chinese made knockoffs, I'm just trying to say if you're concerned about safety, stay with an oem wheel. As for me, I could give a fuck about my face, wrists and hands.

Surprised no one's suggested the Keys racing or Vertex wheels. I really like them both, however Keys racing has some nice padding despite being more of a Honda based wheel.

OMP makes nice swede wheels as well.

But really you shouldn't have a swede wheel unless you have swede driving gloves.
