So I've read and searched about the infamous dash rattle that some 240s are plagued with and of course mine has it too. It sounds like it's coming from the center vents and to the right of the cluster. What's weird is that the rattle speeds up as my rpms climb. It's really annoying. I thought it could be my valves or something, but reving the engine under the hood leads me to believe that this is not the problem. I also thought it could be the brake lines on the firewall vibrating but it wasn't... I also read that it could be the EGI harness rattling, but I have no clue where to find it and yes I have searched...
So now I'm a bit lost... Should I take my dash apart and try to pinpoint the problem? I was thinking... how does the tach work? I know it has a harness that hooks up to the gauge cluster, but is there a mechanical something or other that could be the problem?
I keep having to have the music pretty loud to be able to ignore the rattle...
SOMEONE HELP ME!!!
