View Full Version : Intake Manifold to Wastegate Vacuum?

I just got a new hotpipe (Isis), and it does not have a nipple for the wastegate to hook up to. I was planning on using the bottom nipple on the throttle body (that's usually blocked off) and running a vacuum line from there to the wastegate (with a MBC in between). I don't see why this would be any less efficient than tapping the hotpipe. If someone can explain to me why tapping the hotpipe would be better or why I shouldn't use the bottom nipple on the throttle body, it would be greatly appreciated.
(S13 BT btw)

Just tap the hotpipe, it be pointless otherwise. No reason to run a vacum line any further then it needs to.

Tap the hot pipe or the compressor housing. Easier to do the hot pipe I'm sure.

Shorter the line the more responsive the wastegate is. Besides, and I'm not saying this as a statement of fact but more or less just observations of past threads, But I think that nipple which is usually blocked is debateable in its reliability for what your thinkin. But then again I could be completely wrong. maybe it was that it was vacuum only, maybe someone brighter and more experienced will clarify this issue.

Also just fyi the bottom nipple on the tb is not used for vaccum. Learned that from past mistakes.

Bottom nipple only shows positive pressure. Doesnt seen vaccum. I dont see why you cant run your wastegate to that. All your wastegate care to see is boost.
