Had these for a few months and loved them, then got a killer deal on some rougher riding, bouncier, not pleasant Teins (hehe) and decided to sell these. Low miles, and ready to bolt right in

More about 'em here on my auction, thanks!

What are the spring rates on the GC's? Are the Koni's stock valving (you mention in the auction that they are "designed to work with these exact coilover springs")? Thanks..

Can't find any documentation, but I was told when I bought them that these adjustable struts were designed to work with these..and they seem to be. There are no perches, just a very small lip that the coilover sets on and it fits perfectly.

As for rates, no idea. I THINK the coilovers are around 6 front 5 rear, but that's about it.

So you bought them without knowing the spring rates??

Unless the shocks were specifically valved for that setup they aren't really designed for the springs, just designed to fit the perches.. GC makes their sleeves for Koni Yellows and KYB AGX's.

Where did you buy them from?

this statement is completely wrong.
first off your statement reads that the shocks were designed to fit the perches. I would tend to think you meant the perches were designed to fit the shocks which would be a fair statement.
Beyond that you obviously no nothing about Ground Control and Eibach ERS springs.
If you knew anything about Ground Control you would know they do a lot of research into spring rates and matching the ERS springs with the shocks for their setups. The springs on those koni's are eibach ERS springs, you can get those springs in 25lb increments. That setup he has is probably rated at 450lbs front 250-300lbs rear.
People before you go dissing this guys setup its a very good setup I know guys winning autocross competitions with that setup.

You're right, I got the spring/shock mixed up in my statement. My mistake.

However.. I don't "no" anything about Ground Controls? What exactly lead you to this conclusion? I'm sure GC does a lot of research into their spring rates but they do NOT sell the shocks with the springs. The Koni shocks are developed seperately from the GC's because Koni is a completely different company. The Koni's may be valved specifically for the car, but the likelihood of the valving being specific to the spring rates is quite slim.

I know Ground Control's system. I know you can get custom rates or off the shelf rates (what I imagine he has). What rates he "probably" has doesn't help me a damn bit, because you could be completely off.

I never said anything negative about his setup. You're right, this combo is used extensively in SCCA racing; It's a great setup, much better than the Teins he is switching to IMO, but that's another thread altogether. I was interested in buying them!! However I have no intention of buying a product as integral as struts/shocks without knowing all the details of it first, and I was very surprised that he bought the springs without even knowing the spring rates.

In other words.. chill out.

Sorry for not having all of the proper info, if there's a way to look at the spring and identify part numbers I'll do it, but I'm not sure. I just know that I had GC's on my previous car and they were great, so I found this combo on ebay being sold by a guy who'd installed it for 3 shows then removed. I got a good deal, and the setup really handled well and was not too rough riding. I never said they were sold together, but I was told that the GC's and Koni's were semi-designed to fit together, which they seem to.

I'll try to dig up more info tonight.

Look at the springs, then go to Ground Control's website (http://www.ground-control.com) and see if you can find a matching part number under Race Springs. They list spring rates there. They may not have it but it's worth a shot.

Didn't find the part numbers on their site, guess they just don't list all of them.

Are you talking about the part numbers on the spring? If so post them, with the part number the the spring rate is only a google search away.
