First you remove the transmission, in order to gain access to the steering shaft. Once you pull the steering assembly, go ahead and rip out the dash.. It all needs to come out. Only then can you drop the subframe, which in turn allows you to access the ONLY tstat port on the vehicle (in the gas tank)

It's really simple

Dont forget to drain the driveshaft fluid and remove the muffler bearings first!

redtops dont come with thermostat's....

if you change the headlight fluid it should work fine and stay cooler...

as for the koto radiator, i would exchange that for a koyo

remove the upper water neck, it is 3 bolts, i believe they're 10mm, the thermostat is located behind that.

Ugh. Enjoy this while you can.
The thermostat housing is on the front of the engine, attached to the lower radiator hose. It's attached by 3 nuts. Clean it well before you reassemble, and make sure when you install the new thermo, the little hole is up, it's a vent/bleeder thingy. Make sure that the thermo is seated completely in its groove before you tighten down the housing cover, otherwise it will bind and crack. Don't ask how I know. Make sure you bleed out your cooling system thorough afterwards.

RED_P1LL, before this gets locked, I highly suggest you download and praise the FSM here:

The phase2 link that you'll find in google no longer works. This is for the s14 SR but it pretty much the same.
