I'm going to get new rims for my S13. Is it OK to put such largely different widths? I definetely want 9.5 for the rear, but would like to get 7.5 for the front (mainly for weight).

Put the 9.5 up front. Order a 10.5 for the rear. U got this

LOL! That's "almost" what I asked

Do not put a pizza cutter 7.5 up front...

Only problem I could see (besides it be ugle as fack) would be some HORRIBLE understeer because of the 60mm / 2 inches difference in tire widths front to back.

If youre gonna be a weight weenie, just get the same sizes all the way around. A proper set of something like 17x8.5 or 17x9's on all four corners will give you the best performance.

Staggering is not neccesary at all.

If you do insist upon doing this, I would run tire sizes that are closer to the same width. 235 on the back, 215 up front.. Something like that.

What tire size is more important.

I plan on doing 8" front and 9.5" rear because they don't make 9" but I want to use 235 tires in front and 255's in the rear so it's not that big of a deal.

you can fit 13s in the back with overfenders... 10s/11s with a good pull

this should be in small questions thread or one of the many wheels threads on here

Actually I have 245-s 17" in the rear now, 225 in front. I'm getting new wheels mainly to put smth. BIG in the rear :) at least 265s, maybe fatter. I just like how fat rear tires look :)

I don't know guys who told you different width is ugly, but they lied :) Most REAL cars have staggered setup.

your car's gonna understeer, the weight difference between 7.5 and 9 is negligable, do 17x9 all around. and if youre THAT concerned about weight get 15s or 16s or lighter wheels. s13 does not = ferrari and itll look silly

Ferraris have staggered rims for functional reasons.. your putting 7s and 9s solely for looks is retardly rice and will negatively effect your cars steering.

LOL yeah, all those cars have ungodly torque so they need them that staggered just so they won't spin the tires at every intersection. 240's def don't need super staggered tires at all.

First off there is already a thread for this, and second, LOL at comparing ferraris and a zr1 to an s13

And so you know, tons of 240 owners run staggered setup. No one here ever said staggered was ugly. What they did say is that the 7.5s you want to run in the front are too narrow regardless of rear size, a 17x8 is weak by most everyone's standards now, much less a 7.5

i love all these hellaflush fucks talking about looks.

The car will most likely understeer do the the stagger also depending on tire size. You might be able to correct some of the understeer but it will still be there.

http://zilvia.net/f/chat/297481-small-questions-thread-search-first-use-instead-making-new-threads.htmldoes it contain the answer?
http://zilvia.net/f/chat/166563-maximum-tire-rubber-fitment-thread.htmlExcuse me, I didn't ask about maximum tire fitment

http://zilvia.net/f/chat/392494-wheel-fitment-question-thread.htmlExcuse me, I didn't ask whether they would fit

You drive a nissan, not a ferrari.Captain :) My power to weight ratio is not that far from ferraris's running 285+ in the rear. Besides, why can't I go couple of centimeters wider? :) Because "You drive a nissan"? I won't even LOL at that argument :)

Anyway, turned out no one I contacted have these wheels in stock :( not even 8.5"

small questions thread because this doesn't deserve its own thread AND is a small question.
maximum tire thread because you want to run "fat" tires.

you obviously already know the answer to your question, or just seeking approval.

do what you like.

You're right :) Just opened Ebay couple of months ago and here they are - cheap, very nice, and wide :)
Now since they don't seem to be available, I guess I'll just forget the new rims idea. Unless I come across another nice inexpensive 8.5"+ wheels :)

Tiny chance, but maybe someone knows who has 18x9.5" XXR 502's in stock?

17x8.5 with 245 on all 4 corners for the win...

screw the gay "hella faggot flush" crap...

preformance = safety = winning

This was planned to be my daily (=traffic =stoplights) rims :) I don't need every little bit of performance out of them. I just like big fat tire look :) Plus it would be nice to actually use 500 horses in anything lower than 3rd gear

How did you manage to get 500hp out of a 1.8L motor with a 16G turbo and then only trap 121?

Herp derp XXRs are cool
If you're trying to minimize unsprung weight, you don't want XXRs. You'd be better off waiting and budgeting for higher quality aftermarket wheels, or just sticking with OEM wheels.

As far as actual sports cars having wider tires in the rear, that's because they're set up to protect idiots from oversteering and killing themselves.

Lol at wanting xxr's and wanting to save weight. You could put 16x6.5 and still be heavier than oem wheels.

Better yet, put cinder blocks on. Way lighter bro.

If your main concern is weight why not do something like 17x8.5 and 18x9.5? Staggering width isn't your only option..
