Very often and lately, my clutch has been making some noise, and I'm positive it's coming from inside the car, where the spring mechanism is located. I've already oiled it with WD40 twice on different occasions, and used some bearing grease but the noise has come back.

the only thread I found was this one:

anyone have a more permanent solution to getting rid of the noise? I can't exactly pinpoint where the noise is coming from but it should be common among many 240 owners.

the noise is probably from the clutch master cylinder inside the car. WD40 is not going to fix it, it will probably make it worse. Use some general purpose grease you find at your local auto parts store to lube the piston

I believe there is a small plastic bushing foung within (or around) the spring mechanism that, over time, deteriorates and breaks apart exposing metal to metal. This is where the squeaking you hear comes from. It happened in my car and after quite awhile, the noise finally went away. You could however buy a new bushing from Nissan and fix it that way...

I took my master cylinder apart a few months ago cause it had alot of black liquid in it, and when I put it back together it started squeeking too. Real damn annoying.

Same here on a 95 SE I think I am going to try white lithium grease.

Mine squeeks everytime it rains, cause when i step into my car and push in the clutch it squeeks. I get this because of my aftermarket pedals i put in and squeeks because the water from my shoes get between the aftermarket pedal and stock pedal.
