So my friend goes to one of our spots......that is supposed to be miles away from anywhere....and he starts drifting.
A few minutes later A cop busts him and pulls him over....."thats some nice fishtailing there".......my friend is thinking im dead, car impounded, im getting arrested etc.
"Licence and registration please"......10 minutes go by.
Cop writes him up for bald front azenis, and some other fix it ticket.
Best of all, the car on the ticket says Nissan 180SX.......lucky bastard.

haha, me and a friend got busted right when i was pulling a drift on my local highschool's driving range. Two cops stopped us both as they walked around our cars. Both of the cops were pretty cool and told us we had pretty nice pimped out rides. They let us go, and told us that we can't drive on school property after dark. So i assume i can drift in the day!

if a cop wrote my ticket as a 180sx I'd take it to court, since if the information on the ticket doesn't match your car they can't prove it was you, and therefore... well, therefore I'd think you would get out of the ticket.

Yea, thats an idea. Just make sure you at least have a copy of the ticket, that would be cool. If you have a center garnish that says 180sx, switch it bakc to 240sx, and you might be good to go. Or just take the fine, keep the ticket, go to driving school, and have a great story. Either way.

The body shop that did the repair on my smashed rear-end after some kid in a pickup ran over me listed my car as a 200sx. I wasn't very pleased. Oh well. At least yours is a "JDM TYPE JJJJJJ DDDDDD MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm" mistake. Mine was a "What the h3ll is that thing? What did you say? 200sx? Sure, right it down." No, no, I said 240sx. 2-40! Oh well, whatever.

i would guess it matches his car...why did the cop write 180sx?
i doubt the technicality of him writing 180sx instead of 240sx will get you out of this ticket...why did he write 180sx in the frist place?..is it because you have a JdM TyTe emblem on your car?..i'm sure that is what he was going off of..it was still you, your car, your license, your plate, your VIN..
you could lie to a cop, give him a fake ID, and then go to court and say...hey, that's not me...then the cop will ID you as the individual he cited and you will get busted for falsifying identity as well...
have fun...
and he said all he got was a fix-it ticket...is that really worth fighting?..lol..it's $10 once you fix the infraction..

Maybe the cop just knew his shit, and has nothing against drifting, and thought he'd make you feel good about your car, at the same time hardly giving you a ticket, because he felt he had to do something.

Hey it techinically is a 200SX, thats not as bad as the people here, I was explaining drifting to this kid, and hes like no no I know what it is, and then I was telling him about my car and hes like I know what 240's are man I work on em all the time, well he came into the skateshop again and my boss mentioned how my RWD probably isn't that great in the winter and the kid was like WHAT that thing is RWD. HAHA fools!

haha great story mickey. so cool. :)
Those of you who think he can fight it on the basis of the cop's "error" in noting it down as a 180sx are mistaken - something as arbitrary like that ain't worth shit to a judge... believe me, I've been there. -_- They spell your name wrong (obviously to an extent) or mistake the color of your car, all that isn't going to give you any grounds to argue on; in the end, all you did by bringing it to court is waste your (and the cop and judge's) time. Note my experience(s) may only be valid in LA county.

i wouldnt mess around like that. Im sure they will find a way to make u pay....all courts are linke that :(
speaking of drifting tickets...My friend from Maryland says he got caught drifting in a parking lot. Got a ticket for "Driving with intent to slide". Thats crazy. Also is filed under wreckless endangerment i believe. The penalty for that ticket must suck, but it would make for a cool thing to hang on ur wall. haha ok imma stop my OT jabber :(
