So I've been worried my 240 has been running kinda warm. I have put on a new thermostat, water pump, aluminum radiator, hoses, fan and shroud. Before when I was running dual 12" fans it didn't seem to cool it enough. But since I have had the clutch fan and shroud it cools better. It the gauge seems kinda high. My temps coming off the engine read almost 215-220 and eventually the thermostat opens and brings it to 190 just fine. I guess I'm kinda worried about the temp before the t-stat opens. Is it normal for it to get that high?

Edit:The water gauge sensor is on the water neck adapter thingy you buy at enjuku.....

Sounds like you have air in the system. Turn the heater on full hot, open up the radiator cap, fill up the radiator with water, THEN crack open the bleeder screw. You'll probably hear a whoosh of air come out, then coolant. Close the bleeder quickly. Fill the radiator back up.

Did you put the jiggle valve on the thermo on top of it when you installed it?

Is it an Auto Zone or OEM Nissan Thermo?

what fluid are you running in your coolant system?
now that we are pretty much out of the winter and cold seasons (aka now that freezing isnt a concern) i think it is safe for you to go ahead and run ALMOST 100% water, with a 'water wetter' type additive to give you additional cooling as well as anti corrosive properties.

Autozone thermo

There's your problem, those things are total junk.

Get an OEM one.

And learn what a jiggle valve is on a thermostat (i.e. read the FSM).

Youp^ I had one in my KA at temps would read up to 100*C, Swapped in a n OEM Nissan one, and temps never went over 85*C
