All right guys..... NCDA is working on an event for Memorial day weekend. If all goes well I will start having regular events after May. This event is still being proposed but if it happens it will be a drift only event, so those who felt there was not enough time for drifters at Thunderhill you can get your drift on in Apr. I can not release any futher info. but please check on the website for latest update.

You know, I've talked to a bunch of guys on the Drift Side of the Event and they had a blast. It's gonna be kinda sad to cut Grip drivers out all together...

So "grip" driver's aren't allowed?
Is there a reason?

Jaggorri, because all the drifters where complaining of track time so they are giving all the time to the drifters and excluding the grip drivers.
Now I wonder what would have happened if the drifters didn't complain and the grip drivers did all the complaining, you guys think they would have made an all day grip event.
I don't care either way, but I still don't think it's fair for all the grip drivers that where there cause there where alot of them.

I think we should all note that there are numerous grip track events being held regularly already. Speed Ventures, Golden Gate Lotus, and a number of others. Drift events are far fewer and so I don't think its very unreasonable to do a drift only event.

Fair enough. I figured it would happen eventually, I jsut didn't know if there was a defining reason behind it.

Im assuming this will be at thunder hill again? The track didnt seem all that great for drift. Id rather just grip there.

From what I heard it was high speed turns so its not good for newbies... but honestly I don't see why itd be so bad otherwise.
More NorCal events = good
Todd, shoot me some flyers when ya get it worked out... :)

Thunderhill will continue to be a course we utilize, but this particular proposed event, will be at a closer, to be disclosed at a later date, track. Yes, a real race track, this will not be a parking lot event.
Grip drivers = you are welcome to sign up, attended, but be warned, there will be drifting all around you, it may not be the best venue for your purpose.
Please join our forums, and check the site regularly for updates, which will be announced very shortly.
Thanks!

Interesting,
But it sounds like it is not going to be a very newbie friendly event, because most of the guys I saw at thunder hill cannot do 2nd 3rd or 4th gear drifts.

Well, for sure I will be there. Monthly event would be great too.
Doesn't NCDA stand for "Nor Cal Drifting Academy"?
We need more Drifting Events.
Thank you NCDA again.

Academy?
There weren't enough instructors to be an academy. We couldn't even find an instructor until the very end of the event and that was just because Don helped us out, but before he could help us my brothers MAFS wire fell to fan and got shredded. That really Sucked...

Hey anyone know of someone in San Jose of McKee Road in a Red S13 Hatch with the license plate "Chaos Y".
I'm just curious cause I see him getting on the freeway every day on my way to work.
