My raditator has been giving me a few issues lately and I was thinking of maybe stepping up to a Koyo unit. I plan on keeping my KA untill it dies on me (prolly not for a long time) but I'm sure one day I will go SR, most likely S13 SR. I was wondering is it possible to make the Koyo KA radiator work with the SR S13 motor? Is it a lot of work, or fairly straight forward? I've been looking at a lot of pics and the SR radiator outlet holes seem to be on the opposite side of the KA, but I was thinking since the SR does sit further back, it would be easy to run a hose or pipe across the radiator but I could be wrong. Just lookin for some ideas. Thanks, Jason.

Okay so the KA koyo will work with the SR, but how difficult is it to use with SR???

You'll need custom radiator hoses, as the inlet/outlet on KA/SR radiators are different.

For the top radiator hose people usually use two 90 degree angle hoses w/ a straight aluminum pipe inbetween them. The KA lower radiator hose will work w/ the Koyo aluminum radiator if you have either the KA or SR motor (w/ the SR motor you have to trim the last bend in the lower radiator hose off of the top to make it fit perfectly - the KA and SR thermostat housings come out at slightly different angle.
*edit: forgot to mention that if worse comes to worse you could go to advanced auto and buy a flexible radiator hose for the top - just tell the salesman that you need a flexible lower radiator hose for the KA - don't know if this hose is long enough so you should definately messure out how long the hose will need to be before you buy it.
:stupid:
Or you could just get the SR one and retro fit it for the KA for now :)

Not so fast
You have FMIC thats why that dbl bend tube will work
If you have the factory SMIC then it wont because the factory air cross over tube will be in the way
Ive tried it and hood wont close
even if you squeeze it in, the heater hose touches the air tube (het is not good for the air in)

thanks for the info, i never had the smic fitted so i didnt know, i would do as a few others have sadi and just retrofit a sr radiator, that way when you have the install of the motor you will have it nice and clean without a pipe shooting across the engine
