whats up guys. Just swapped in my single cam and the only problem i have now is that the car is not starting. I have a brand new battery and i am getting power to my headlights, taillights, and cluster but the car will not start. The starter is where the problem is. The starter will spin and i can hear it whine but i guess it is not engaging. Ive searched around but have not found a solution to the starter not engaging. has anyone ran into this problem? These guys did but no one seemed to have a solution. http://forums.nicoclub.com/starter-spinning-not-engaging-help-please-event-soon-t228179.html

Now why didnt i think of that?... in case you didnt click on the link in my previous post, someone had a new starter and it was not engaging so getting a new starter will not solve the problem

You said the starter having problem but did you took it out and have it tested. It might not have enough cranking amp to turn the flywheel.. Have you try pushing the car and start it..

yea i took it to get it tested today and it works fine. my only guess now is maybe the block i had rebuilt isnt for this starter. i got a ka24e block off someone and had it decked and cleaned up and used it in replace of my 240sx block. the 240sx starter has 3 mounting holes and my block only has 2. could there be a difference in ka24e starters? maybe its too short to reach the flywheel when the bendex is pushing the gear out?
