still gonna get locked like the others that ask the same damn question at least two times a week...and S14 have a more "centered" balance of weight so they're SLIGHTLY preferred over S13 but I've loved both S13's i've owned and I love sliding my buddy's S14....just up to you homie. anymore they're around the same damn ridiculous price...

They come either open or vlsd....I had my last one welded, and i loved it just a little risky downshifting or heel toeing in the rain and I've had cops pull me over in parking lot asking me why I was trying to burn out. lol I'm welding this daily too. If you're going to slide, weld it, if you're just gonna drive straight to work/school and back then leave it open...won't go through tires as first

It's all personal preference OP, I myself started out with an s13 but longed for an s14. Soon after selling the s13 and getting an s14 (now on my 3rd s14 lol) I now really want an s13 hatchback lol. They grew on me over the years...

If you noticed in the "questions thread" numerous questions go unanswered because someone is always answering or asking and you get lost in the thread. this way everyones shit is simply asked and answered and you can see the topic of the question in the subject. if you dont know the subject or dont want to talk about it, move onto the next thread and help someone else out with your sick knowledge. as for the OP's question:
i own an s13 coupe, base sr20 and i love it. ive never driven an s14 but from the sounds of it they are a bit harder to overall control. s13's imo are like the u.s. version of the ae86. everyone has one, its the beginner car, and they are easy to slide yet can be transformed into anything competetive to win. (dai yoshihara, and many other s13 drivers out there.) s14's are more expensive, parts cost is slightly higher and you have to run emissions (at least in illinois 95' and older we dont have to do emissions)
