240sx problems

Hey guys I'm new to the forum. I'm going to be going and checking out a 96 black 240sx SE on wednesday. It is at an auction and I was wondering what kind of problems I should typically look for. Anything and everything would be appreciated. Since it is a private auction, I am barely able to get in myself, and I wouldnt be able to bring a mechanic but I can pretty much check out most of the car myself and my friend can do it as well. I am going to change the engine and transmission anyway but are there any other problems that I should look into that typically show up in the S14 240sx? Any and all replies are welcome. Thanks for the help!

check for rust first off, although judging by your loaction that probably wont be a problem.

I would always take a car to a mechanic before buying it...if you cant put down a deposit and "borrow" the car then make sure you dont pay too much for it

make sure to look closely at the body....has it been in an accident?

um...known problems common to our cars I cant really think of any.
