just upgraded my clutch/flywheel. i cleaned the flywheel but as it was late and i was drinking i forgot to clean the friction surface of the pressure plate(which of course i realized after it slipped). it held pretty well for the most part, but i got about a 2k rpm slip when i spooled up in 3rd and a puff of smoke from under the hood. my question is basically, will the shit burn off on its own or do i have to pull my tranny again and clean it?
no definitive answer when i searched
thanks

Was it broken in properly?

i only drove it home drom the shop i changed it in...maybe 20 miles. i wasnt slipping or dropping the clutch. i gassed it with the clutch engaged in 3rd got that slip and it bit back very quickly, about as soon as i realized and began to lift the throttle the clutch was planted again. i gave it a little more tq later in 5th and it held on, but i didnt wanna open it up full and glaze it up. im thinking it was from not cleaning the friction disk of the pp, because of the puff of smoke i got when it slipped.
but in summary no it is not yet broken in, my question is simply should i be taking it back off to clean it, or should i let/hope it burns off

most clutches need to be broken in for like 700 miles

thanks for your imput. i am aware of that my only concern is that during the break in period i could glaze the face of the pp being that i neglected to clean it before mounting it up against the clutch disk. IM THINKING that the residue will just burn off and not cause me a problem, but im not sure and would rather be safe then sorry.
