Another 240 gone...

Another 240 was claimed by the highway (I-880 in the bay area). Common story, a bunch of guys slammed the brakes, and I skidded sideways doing 70. Luckily, I was able to straighten the car out and ended up smashin into the back of an s-10 doing ~50. Nobody was hurt, I was lucky enough to only get knocked out by the A-pilllar, but I'm fine.

I guess sell it for 500, because its perfect for a s13 conversion. I just don't want to spend the time or money to fix it. If I can't sell it for 500, I'll just donate it for the tax write-off.

Well, I might part the car out, depending on interest. To let you guys know, the car has 125k on the odometer, but the dash is not working. I was actually returning from San Leandro Nissan after ordering the parts to fix it when I crashed. There is a new clutch slave cylinder, along with master. The brakes are new. Interior is very clean, with the exception of the drivers side rip. I did not bother to get an estimate on fixing it, but on inspection, I'm sure i need a new radiator and radiator support, maybe a new fan.

So, anybody is free to make an offer for the car or for parts, and I'll see what I can do.

btw, I had no collision insurance...so as it is now, I'm out 3000 dollars, so I'd like to recoup at least part of that money

parting that car out is stupid. it's bad enough that 240s are getting crashed alot lately, but seeing owners part cars out that are not frame damaged is annoying. Yeah, it'll cost some money to fix, but that doesn't make it the end of the world. Taking another 240 off the streets because you want to make a buck is very frustrating.
Well, maybe it's just frustrating to me.

my .02 is that you should buy a hood, have the radiator core supprt replaced/pulled, get a headlight assembly and bumper and call it good. For the money, an S13 Silvia face might be called for, but that's subjective.

Maybe that car is a framer. Pull off the fenders and look at the frame. It just doesn't look like it could be in those pics.

dont par tit out, thats ruining the cars life, it could be driven forever with a little body work, it would be better than b4 if you fixed, aftermarket bumper aftermarket hood, lights hell een some nice flared fenders.....

fix it!!!..it doesnt look that bad, just the rad support, and proly the ends of ur frame that connects the rad support

on the sidenote - 880 is horrible!!! ppl not knowing how 2 drive + gridlock style traffic = no no
i try 2 stay of it as much as possible, especially through rush hour times

oh yea guys, i want to keep it. the problem is, i'm in high school and i had to work my ass off for a year just to buy the car. now, i can't spend the money to fix it. it sucks, i had plans for the car. i am going to sell it out to someone who has the time and the money for a project. i'm getting offers for almost 1000 dollars, which would be great for me. my parents might come around and help me with a car when i graduate, but they never gave me any money for this car, either to purchase or for insurance, so i cannot spend thousands more.

i did want to keep the car alive, so i really wanted to sell it outright, but i'm just trying to get the most money for it. trust me, i don't want another 240 scrapped...

I would keep it too, and wait for a while and save up some money and fix it, because best case scenario you get like $1,000 for it, but then you go buy yourself a $1,000 car the needs more work then your 240, look at it this way look what you are selling for that price and look what it would buy you. I would keep the car scam rides for a while save some money and fix it. I think it's really cool how everyone on here wasn't like lowballing him and telling him to sell it, its cool how people were encouraging, everyone says everybody on here is a prick but I beg to differ.....I say keep it.

i was going to save and all...but my parents seem to have come around a little, my mom got scared cuz no ABS ;). they will help me with a decent car (im gonna try to get them to help with a dp on a wrx) for college, and they want to see it go, so i guess i gotta give in this time...
