I'm building a drag car out of my S13 hatch and need to get rid of my sunroof, I can cut the roof of a non sunroof hatch and use it but I thought I'd seen a whole roof replacement in carbon fiber? Anyone know of one?

Well NRG discontinued the roof skin as so many 240 options have been recently, anyone got any other place to get it from?

buy a big sheet of lexan and youll have a huge panoramic sunroof thats lightweight and solid.

Is this an actual roof though or is it just a cover that goes over the roof. Still looks neat though

Putting a carbon fiber roof on top would be alright, but only if your car has a cage.

Cool. I have a roll cage and I HATE my aftermarket sunroof. I'm thinking about covering the hole with this piece and getting a non sunroof headliner.

Yeah my drag car has got a 25.5 cage so the roof is useless for me.

Just outa curiosity why not just cut a piece of metal to fit and weld that bitch in there, seems like that would be the cheapest and easiest route and you wouldn't have the lexan "cooking you"... Yeah cf roof would be cool and all but it seems like I would be more expensive and more of a hassle than its worth, if you need weight reduction there are plenty of other thing that u could do that would be cheaper and like 10x easier

Just cut the roof off and make it a vert. Done.

I think the cf roof cover would be cheaper than welding a plate and painting it. I want my roof to look like it ever had a sunroof.

Not sure if that's to me but I'm almost done with my build and haven't gone the cheaper/easier route for the whole thing and I don't really have a desire to cheapout now. There are many things one can do to save weight and I've done just about all of them. I dont expect to take off much weight but in my case a CF roof will flow better than a painted roof.
Btw a welded piece would probably crack the paint at a later date.

That was to you... Ok cool I was just wondering, just seemed like it was an easier solution, but yeah with the paint issue I can see why you would opt for the cf, I just don't see too many drag cars that are made to look pretty lol

Really? I hardly ever see new high end drag cars that couldn't pass for a show car as well. Problem is you probably mean you don't see to many import drag cars made to look good but that's because a good portion of import drag cars are lower budget 10-11 sec cars and it's tough to pick looks over performance. Not saying my build is high end or that I've got alot of $ but if I'm gonna end up spending 65k-75k I may as well spend a bit more and make it look good(at least to me).

norm is correct
its an interesting concept, but the carbon aspect sucks because the resin WILL yellow, no question about that. it will certainly need to be painted. though, i cant imagine bonding that piece of shit veneer onto the roof of my car.. kinda weird.
i went through the difficulty of welding the roof shut, and boy was it a pain in the ass. imo, it still is the achilles heel of my car. while the roof is solid now and looks great, my paint thickness gauge shows a good amount of filler and paint was used to make it look smooth. i can only wonder how it will hold up over time.
i really wish my car never came with an aftermarket sunroof... but such is life.

Haha well when you put it like that yeah what's another few bucks lol... Nah I'm actually use to primered muscle car dragers, in my experience most import drag cars are the ones that look nice cus the are going for show and go whereas the muscle car folks (at least up here and other places I've lived) would rather spend the money on the motor and don't give two shits bout the appearance. But I'm also talking about amateur drag guys didn't know you were so involved and invested ;)
