I have a 1995 ka24de with approximately 135k miles. Bought it at 125 k. I had noticed that my engine is burning oil.
I just did an oil change 2 weeks ago with mobil1 high mileage 10w30 full synthetic oil.
I checked the dipstick today and the oul level is slightly below low. Prior to the oil change the dipstick barely had oil in it, and i have to stop by the gast station to top off the oil.
I already check for leaks, no leaks found. Did a compression test 175-178-175-176 . What shld i look for next? Pcv valve?
I travelled arnd 900 miles weekly so i have to make sure that my oil is good. Did pullup the code for cel , but it's for code 32,34 and 105.

I'd always have a quart on you in the car. Personally I don't like synthetic either. Especially in a older 90's engine. Blowing blue smoke?

I have a quart and a left over from changing my oil. No smokes except when it's in the morning. Mostly white smoke due to condensation.
Shld i try oil additives first than se heavier oil? How abt my pcv valve? How do i know if its malfunction?

check the spark plugs. if you are burning oil, the plugs will have deposits on them. if there is no deposits on the plugs, you might have bad exhaust valve stem seals. take a look at the intake pipe and plenum, if you see oil in them, you might have some bad piston rings causing the blow by that is pushing oil out of the valve cover vent pipe to the intake pipe.

I checked both the plugs and intake. There are no whitr deposits on the plugs as well as intake.

So then your burning oil
Are you sure you don't have a leak? It doesn't always have to show drips on the ground, my KA leaks but it rarely makes it to the ground.
You could try switching to a heavy oil, it may help, but you still have a problem causing burning or leaking.
Don't be fooled by the compression test numbers either. Pouring oil in the cylinders is a way to test if rings are cracked. If you are leaking oil in the cylinder it could be giving you faulty compression numbers and they would be on the high side, just like yours.
