Hey guys,
My old Miata battery was shot so it was time to get a new one and I'm really happy with my setup now so I thought I'd share.

Picked up a Deka ETX30L on ebay for $90. I went with the 30 because I DD this car and the extra capacity and 400CCA is nice compared to some of the smaller models (14/16/18/20), it still only weighs 21lbs and was only $10 more. It's the best balance out of the Deka's IMO. A 20 or 18 should do fine for DD'ing but may struggle a bit in the cold and will probably die if you don't drive for a week or more. The 14/16's are pretty much strictly track batteries but could handle street usage if it's warm and if you drive every other day at least.
Now onto the terminals. You'll need some M6 SAE terminals and I decided to pick some up from Voltphreaks HERE (https://p10.secure.hostingprod.com/@www.voltphreaks.com/ssl/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=143). I got these since they're the cheapest I could find, have a nice knurl on them to hold the cables on and are silver rather than the others that are mostly bronze. They were a breeze to install too, just rub some of the silver paste where it will make contact and thread the M6 bolt into the pre-tapped holes on the Deka with the included hex key.
Here's how they look on the battery:

And here's my beat up old Miata battery:

And finally, here's it installed:

I've had the Miata battery since I got the car in 09 and damn, this new Deka starts it up like I've never seen from the Miata battery. Even when the Miata battery was good, it came nowhere close to the cranking speed I'm now getting out of the Deka. WELL worth the $100 :)
